Confession

Confession:  I am the worst blogger ever.  I always get really excited and promise to blog regularly, and that lasts all of about 5 days....

WELL I'm starting vet school soon, so now looks like a great time to recommit!

Time for a RECIPE!

When I get off work or get home from school, the last thing I want to do is stand in the kitchen for an hour cooking, so I invented this quick and easy recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. thin cut chicken breasts (these can be hard to find, so you can also use a tenderizer to make regular breasts thin)
  • Italian dressing
Directions:
  • Place the chicken breasts in a large bowl, and douse them in about 4 Tbsp. of the dressing.
  • Heat a skillet to medium high heat, and then place the first breast on it.
  • Pour about a tsp. of the dressing onto the chicken, and cook for about 3 minutes on each side.  Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the individual breasts.
  • Nom.

Things I love...

Oooooooooooops I haven't been blogging in a while...my bad.

But I'm back! And I would like to do a fun little post about things that I am loving right this minute.

Cee-Lo Green: Child. The epitome of awesome music. You cannot NOT dance to this man.

The Elephant Keeper: I love elephants. I love books. I love this book about elephants!
Frappe machine: Had its maiden voyage today. Verdict: delicious. Please come over, and I will make you one :]

Oxford shoes: Spring is in the air! Which means that more than anything, I want to wear a pair o these with cuffed jeans and a boyfriend tee.

Wombats: Self explanatory.

This picture: I literally laughed till I cried, for 15 minutes.

Ode to Jimmy

Hello world!

Sunday is my 1 year anniversary with my darling boyfriend, so I am making this post a tribute to him:

This is Jimmy
He's my boyfriend, and I love him a whole lot.

Sometimes he's silly. So we get along perfect.

We love to have adventures together.

Sometimes we go to the beach, sometimes we go to the lake, and sometimes we just sit around on the couch and laugh at each other.

He's my favorite person in the whole wide world, and he's given me the best year of my life.

This Christmas, he even came home to California with me!

Thanks for being the best in the world boyfriend.

I love you :]

Goals!!

Today, I am going to set some goals for February:

1. Go to the gym at least 2 times a week, every week.
2. Start and finish reading The Elephant Keeper.
3. Study like mad for the GRE.
4. Make 1 new recipe every week.
5. Go to bible study every week.
6. STOP BITING MY NAILS.

There they are. Whether they come to fruition, only time will tell. Keep following, and on March 1st I'll update you on my successes :]

My Most Favorite Book

Hello blog readers!!

First, a short update on my life: The Krispy Kreme Challenge is this Saturday (2/5) and we need volunteers! Contact me if you want to help!

Now, back to your planned programming:

I would like to take a moment to celebrate my most favorite book in the whole wide world. I stumbled upon this book in high school in a public library. It was a little strange when I first started reading it, but pretty soon I was sucked in, and I've now read it twice, underlined my favorite lines, and bought it for everyone I love. It's called Special Topics in Calamity Physics by Marisha Pessl.

Long story short, it's a mystery story with a lot of depth, one of the most fascinating female protagonists in any book I've ever read, and the most talented writing I've ever read. If you are looking for a fantastic book, look no further. If you want to read it, let me know, I'll loan it to you!!

What's your favorite book?

Very Important Note!

I googled the words to the song "Walk on the Wild Side" by Lou Reed that inspired the title of my blog. While it is a fantastic song as far as the tune goes, the lyrics are a bit....strange.

So I would like everyone to know that the title is inspired partially by the song, but more so by my love of wild animals, and my outrageous and unpredictable personality.

It has nothing to do with: being a transvestite, prostitution, hustling, or taking valium.
